Children Helping Children at St. Patrick’s Maple Ridge
To help children understand charitable giving, the parish started a children’s collection during Advent in 2014 and has continued every Saturday and Sunday mass ever since.
During the collection, children go up to the altar to put their donation in the basket. The collection sponsors the Catholic Near East Welfare Association (CNEWA)’s projects for the Iraqi and Syrian children caught in civil wars and terrorist attacks.
CNEWA works with local religious to provide emergency needs, education, psychological as well as spiritual support for the children and families.
In 2015, a total of $3436.91 was sent to CNEWA. It is a combination from the children’s collection and the sales of rosaries & T-shirts donated by seminarians at the Westminster Abbey.

St. Patrick’s Parish Christmas Cookie mix fundraising for Refugees
St. Patrick’s Parish girls and their moms want to thank all those who were so generous in buying the 92 jars of Christmas Cookie mix in December 2015. They raised over $1100 for the refugee children who are coming to our parish soon. They had a lot of fun, and hope to do it again next year.
