Friday, October 14th @ 9:00am

“The special grace of the sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick has as its effects: the uniting of the sick person to the passion of Christ, for his own good and that of the whole Church; the strengthening, peace, and courage to endure in a Christian manner the sufferings of illness or old age; the forgiveness of sins, if the sick person was not able to obtain it through the sacrament of penance; the restoration of health, if it is conducive to the salvation of his soul; the preparation for passing over to eternal life” (CCC 1532).

There will be a small reception with coffee & treats in Holy Grounds following Friday’s 9 AM Healing Mass.

Giving Thanks for the Men’s Retreat

Our men, pictured above, took part in a retreat in RockRidge Canyon last weekend with over 300 men in attendance.

Here are just a few things that had to say about the experience:
“spiritually electric”
“essential, foundational, encouraging”

Praise God for the gift of this retreat in the lives of these men, their families and our community.

Thank you!

Thank you to Margaret, Kathy, Aga and Agnes for cooking Alpha a delicious dinner!

Thank you to Paula for the cookies (the added sugar on top was super yummy) and to Carmelina for lending us her coffee grinder while ours was in need of repair.

Thank you to Jody & Jordy for their help on Sunday morning preparing coffee & treats for our after Mass social.

Fathered by God: Learning what your Dad could never teach you.

In an age when fathers are more important than ever, how do you embark on your journey to manhood and know how to steer clear of the dangers along the way?

In Fathered by God, Eldredge calls men back to a simple and reassuring truth: God is our Father, and he wants to show us what masculinity really means. Eldredge teaches us that there’s a path leading to authentic manhood, cut by generation after generation of men. There are perils along the trail, even disasters–all the more reason to rely on the guidance of a Father who has gone before us.

Through personal stories and practical guidance, Eldredge provides a map through the six stages of a man’s journey and answers some of the most common questions about manhood that he’s received over the years.
