	News from St. Pat’s Ministry Updates & Upcoming Events   Alpha Thursday, April 28th   The hardships of the world can feel heavy and consuming. How does the Good News of Jesus keep us from being weighed down by the bad news in the media?   Due to illness, we had to postpone our Alpha! But the good news is you can still join us! Join us at Alpha and begin your journey to discovering the best news even within the worst of times. Alpha begins April 28th and ends on June 30th. We are offering both a morning and evening Alpha, depending on your schedule. Morning Alpha @ 9:00 am-10:30 am Evening Alpha @ 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm Any questions? Email Sunghee Hwang, Alpha Coordinator at sunghee_hwang@stpatric….   Register for Alpha       Divine Mercy Chaplet April 24 @ 3 PM   All are welcome to join in the singing of the Divine Mercy Chaplet at 3:00 pm in the Church.   There is a plenary indulgence associated with Divine Mercy Sunday: In a decree the Apostolic Penitentiary announced that in order “to ensure that the faithful would observe this day (Divine Mercy Sunday) with intense devotion, the Supreme Pontiff himself established that this Sunday be enriched by a plenary indulgence…so that the faithful might receive in great abundance the gift of the consolation of the Holy Spirit. In this way, they can foster a growing love for God and for their neighbour, and after they have obtained God’s pardon, they in turn might be persuaded to show a prompt pardon to their brothers and sisters.”   The plenary indulgence is granted (under the usual conditions* of a sacramental confession, Eucharistic communion and a prayer for the intentions of the Supreme Pontiff) to the faithful who, in any church or chapel, in a spirit that is completely detached from the affection for a sin, even a venial sin, take part in the prayers and devotions held in honour of Divine Mercy or, in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament exposed or reserved in the tabernacle, recite the Our Father and the Creed, adding a devout prayer to the merciful Lord Jesus (e.g. Merciful Jesus, I trust in you!”).   *It is appropriate, but not necessary, that the sacramental Confession and especially Holy Communion and the prayer for the Pope’s intentions take place on the same day that the indulgenced work is performed; but it is sufficient that these sacred rites and prayers be carried out within several days (about 20) before or after the indulgenced act. Prayer for the Pope’s intentions is left to the choice of the faithful, but an “Our Father” and a “Hail Mary” are suggested.
	The Chosen: Outdoor Movie Night May 7th, 8 ish’ PM (Sundown)   To keep the celebration of Easter alive let’s continue, or begin, walking with Jesus through a special viewing of the Chosen.   What to bring Camp chairs Blankets  Warm socks & such What we’ll provide Popcorn & pop! 	Marriage Anniversary Mass   If you’re a married couple celebrating 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, or 60+ years of marriage, you’re invited to the 2022 Marriage Anniversary Mass on Sunday, May 8 at St. Clare of Assisi Parish in Coquitlam. Register before April 18 to receive your certificate at the Mass and have your names printed in the Mass booklet.   Register Here
