The Angel of the Lord declared unto Mary, and she conceived of the Holy Spirit. Hail Mary… Behold the handmaid of the Lord, be it done unto me according to Your word. Hail Mary… And the Word was made Flesh, and dwelt among us. Hail Mary… Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God, that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ. Let us pray: Pour forth, we beseech Thee, O Lord, They grace into our hearts; that we, to whom the incarnation of Christ, Thy Son, was made known by the message of an angel, may by His Passion and Cross be brought to the glory of His Resurrection, through the same Christ Our Lord. Amen.
Father, through Your Son, Jesus Christ, grant that every family on earth may become a beacon of Your love and life. We pray for... Families experiencing separation, divorce or adapting to single parenthood... Families afflicted by physical and mental illnesses... Families grieving the loss of loved ones or experiencing estrangement... Families struggling financially... Families healing from wounds caused by adultery and pornography... And for all families learning to forgive as You have forgiven us... Inspire in us, individually and as a community, ways to support all families. Help us to uphold the Family as the Church at home, where love and life is expressed, and saints are made. Amen
Mary, Mother of God, you bore Jesus within you, and by your "Yes!," brought Him into the world. Radiant with the joy of the Gospel and upon receiving your mission, your soul magnified the Lord. You are the Church's first missionary disciple. We consecrate our mission here at St. Patrick's, "to call and form missionary disciples," to your motherly care and heavenly model. Help us to be missionaries like you, who bear God in our community an din our conversations. Inspire in us a heart like yours to invite others to Jesus, a heart that magnifies the Lord, and a heart radiant with the joy of the Gospel. Amen.
Oh God, You have chosen the Apostles to make disciples of all nations and by Baptism and Confirmation have called all of us to build up Your Holy Church. We earnestly implore You to chose from among us, Your children, many priests, deacons, brothers and sisters who will love You with their whole heart and will gladly spend their entire lives to make you know and loved by all. Amen
Lord Jesus Christ, You call us to follow You as disciples, help us to respond wholeheartedly without counting the cost. You invite us to proclaim Your gospel of hope and salvation here at home and to all nations and peoples. Teach us to be faithful evangelists in word and in action. You have given us every spiritual and material blessing. Show us how to share our gifts with others, and inspire us always to follow Your example of generous self-giving. Gracious Lord, teach us to give with a joyous and grateful heart that we may provide hope, consolation, and pastoral care to your people and thus give glory and honour to Your Holy Name. Amen.
Almighty God, giver of all that is good, we thank You for the precious gift of human life: For life in the womb, coming from your creative power, For the life of children, making us glad with their freshness and promise, For the life of young people, hoping for a better world, For the life of people who are disabled, teaching us that every life has value, For the life of the elderly, witnessing to the ageless values of patience and wisdom. Like Blessed Mary, may we always say “YES” to Your gift. May we defend it and promote it from conception to its natural end, and bring us at last, O Father, to the fullness of eternal life in Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly hosts, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan, and all the evil spirits who prowl around the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
Heavenly Father, Through the intercession of the Holy Family, help us treasure the gift of marriage that reflects the love of Christ for the Church, where the self-giving love of husband and wife unites them more perfectly and cooperates in your plan for new life created in your image. Help us support men and women in their vocation of marriage, especially in difficult times when they join their sufferings to the Cross. Help us uphold the institution of marriage in our society as the place where love is nurtured and family life begins. Help us acknowledge that our future depends on this love and your providential care for us. Amen.
Christ be with me, Christ within me, Christ behind me, Christ before me, Christ beside me, Christ to win me, Christ to comfort and restore me, Christ beneath me, Christ above me, Christ in quiet, Christ in danger, Christ in heart of all that love me, Christ in mouth of friend and stranger. Amen
(a private prayer after Communion) Soul of Christ, sanctify me Body of Christ, save me Blood of Christ, inebriate me Water from the side of Christ, wash me Passion of Christ, strengthen me O good Jesus, hear me Within Thy wounds hide me Suffer me not to be separated from Thee From the malicious enemy defend me In the hour of my death call me And bid me come unto Thee That with Thy angels and saints, I may praise Thee forever and ever. Amen
