3rd Sunday in Ordinary Time

News from St. Pat’s

Ministry Updates & Upcoming Events

Fr. Matthew will be away January 24 – 27, 2023

There will not be any Masses, Confessions or Adoration available at St.Patrick’s during this time. Apologies for the inconvenience, please see St.Luke’s schedule for their times and availability of the Sacraments during Father Matthew’s absence.

Join us after the 9am and 11:15am Masses for Coffee & Treats in Holy Grounds

Come join us in Holy Grounds as we discuss the importance of acknowledging mental health & all its facets within the Catholic church.

The Archdiocese of Vancouver will be delivering a four-part mental health series/dialogue over the next few months. The series will include video content from Sanctuary Mental Health Ministries and a mental health professional who will respond to the video and answer any questions people may have.

We will be facilitating a group here at Holy Grounds. Registration is required as capacity is limited in Holy Grounds. Registration will occur every month.

Our first night is Wednesday, Jan 25th at 7:30-8:30pm.

Would you like to get more involved in the parish?

We have service positions open to help with Sunday Socials and in the Coffee House during the week.

Call the parish office to speak with Margaret Jakus or Hannah Powell about these opportunities.

Thank You!

to Don Holt, Jen Castle, Margaret Jakus, and Marc & Merle Bawagan who helped us gather the bread to give out to our parishioners.

to the Mystagogia team for all their efforts before and on launch day this past Wednesday (Debbie & Malcolm Wheeler, Ilse & Patrick Schafli, Don & Lorraine Holt, Jean Ferri, Lorna D’Mello, Sunghee Hwang, Carmen & Jon Archer).

Drinking with the Saints – Monthly Men’s Nights

Last Saturday of every month

Saturday, January 28th @ 7-8:30pm

Announcing the official launching of our men’s ministry!

Come join some of the men at St. Patrick’s Parish as we enjoy a drink in honour of the Saints. Each month we will pick a patron, hear their story, and raise a glass. There will be light fare, unique cocktails, and good conversation. This is not a faith study, it is an opportunity for the Men in our Parish to get to know one another & join in fellowship.

“Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another”.

-Proverbs 27:17

We are taking applications! Call the office to talk to Hannah or email her directly. Email is on the website. Ages to apply are 18-30 years old.

What is it?
WYD is a worldview encounter for all young people. This community wide encounter is centered around Jesus Christ. You can personally experience the universal Catholic church and share the hope of evangelization with those you come home to. Deepen your faith, prayer life and understanding of the sacraments with thousands of other young people.

Pope John Paul once said at a WYD, “I repeat again today what I said at Santiago de Compostela: “Young people, do not be afraid to be holy!” Fly high, be among those whose goals are worthy of sons and daughters of God. Glorify God in your lives!”
