Bulletin: 4th Sunday of Advent

Our parish relies on your generosity. Your donations each year directly impact our ability to minister to those in need, to provide special programs such as Alpha and CGS, to offer small group faith studies, to maintain our buildings, and to grow our parish school.

Empowering our Parish Vision
Your Project Advance tax-deductible donation funds works such as Youth and young adults ministry, new Catholic schools, programs supporting families, feeding homeless and vulnerable, pastoral ministry and support for the hospitalized.
Once the parish goal is met, all additional funds are directed back to parish projects identified by our Pastor and Parish Leadership Team. Thank you so much for your generosity.
We made it!
Our target for 2025 is $49,100. We have currently raised to date $55,000.
Please continue to give. Every additional dollar stays with the parish and directly benefits our community. Thank you to all who have contributed! โฅโฅโฅ

Pre-labelled Parish donation envelopes are available for pick up for those who prefer to donate with cash or cheque. Please use these envelopes starting Jan 1, 2026.
There is a limited number of physical envelopes available and they are pre-labelled based on parishioner preference.
For parishioners who donate electronically, there is no need to pick up a physical envelope for donations – your donations are recorded electronically and your envelope # does not change in the new year.
Envelopes for Second Collections are additionally available at the office for your use.
Please contact the parish office if you require paper envelopes and one is not already available for you.

Mass Intentions
The Catholic Church dedicates the entire month of November to the Holy Souls in Purgatory. During this month we pray for the souls of the faithful departed, especially those whom we have known and loved. The season of Holy Souls reveals our reflection of our own mortality, celebrating and mourning those who have gone before us, and gently gathering the past into Godโs loving embrace.

The fourth week of Advent : Light all four candles
Lighting the Advent wreath isnโt just a time-honoured tradition, itโs also an amazing opportunity to create meaningful connections and discussions with your loved ones! Deepen your experience with these beautiful Advent wreath prayers that will help you reflect on the season in a profound way.
Bless your Advent Wreath:
Dear Jesus, as we light the candle(s) on this Advent wreath, may the light of your presence bring joy to our hearts. Bless our family and our friends, and be with all those who are in need this holiday season. Amen.
Read from Scripture: “And the angel said to them, โBe not afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of a great joy which will come to all the people; for to you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.” (Luke 2:10-11)
Pray the Advent Wreath Prayer for Week 4: โDear Jesus, may the light of your love always shine in our hearts. As Christmas draws closer, we marvel at your great love for us. Let your love transform every aspect of our lives and touch everyone we encounter. Our hearts are open to you, Jesus. Amen.โ
Reflect: What concerns, joys, worries, and prayers do you want to bring to Jesus this Christmas?

Archbishop Smith’s Christmas Message 2025
Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
Every heart longs for hope. At Christmas, that longing is fulfilled in the child of Bethlehem โ God Himself, who enters our story to remind us that we are never alone. โThe Word became flesh and dwelt among usโ (John 1:14).
In that little child we see the reality of our own lives. We are vulnerable to loneliness, longing for love, searching for meaning. Yet it is precisely in our weakness that the Lord draws near with tender love and warmth.
The wonder of Christmas reminds us that Godโs glory shines through what is small and simple. May that beauty open our hearts to welcome Christ anew.
As we enter the final weeks of the Jubilee of Hope, I invite you to reflect on where you need hope most in your life. Christmas is the season of hope โ when God reminds us that everything will be all right, that all things work together for good, because He draws near and remains with us. No matter how dark things may seem, the hope born in Bethlehem assures us that Christโs light will always prevail.
My friends, as we celebrate this season together, may the peace of Christ dwell in your heart. May His gift of hope bring light to your days. And may His love move you to serve Him with gratitude.
With prayerful best wishes for a blessed and joyful Christmas,
โ Richard W. Smith
Archbishop of Vancouver
