Bulletin: 4th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Our parish relies on your generosity. Your donations each year directly impact our ability to minister to those in need, to provide special programs such as Alpha and CGS, to offer small group faith studies, to maintain our buildings, and to grow our parish school.

The final numbers are in – and our parish really stepped up in 2025!
With incredible gratitude we are happy to share with you that while the goal set for us by the Archdiocese was $44,100, St. Patrick’s, Maple Ridge raised $111,273.03!!!
This means that after the Archdiocese has finished processing all of the fees and levies, we will see $63,934.36 come back to our parish to be invested in this beautiful place that is home to us all.

Special Prayer Intention for Catholic Health Care
A court case began this week involving St. Paul’s Hospital. The case pertains to whether faith-based health care facilities are permitted to operate in accordance with their values by not providing Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD). It will challenge Catholic healthcare and its place within Canada’s publicly funded healthcare system.
Lord Jesus, Divine Healer, you sought out the sick, the marginalized, and those cast aside. We pray for all who receive care at St. Paul’s Hospital, for their families and loved ones, and for all healthcare workers who serve with compassion. We entrust this court case to your care. Grant wisdom to those who must decide it, that justice may prevail and that Catholic healthcare may continue its mission without compromise. Help us to protect those who are most vulnerable and to build a society where every human life is sacred.
National Catholic Health Care Week
From February 1 to 7, 2026 we mark National Catholic Health Care Week across Canada. Inspired by Catholic social teaching, this year’s theme Open Hearts, Healing, Hope reflects the profound belief that healing is communal. We are grateful for our Catholic health ministries as partners in the healing ministry of Jesus, fostering trust, promoting justice and respecting the dignity of every human person—body, mind and soul. Pray with us during the Week with special daily reflections and prayers. Learn more and find resources at beholdvancouver.org/events

Lord our God, in your wisdom and love you surround us with the mysteries of the universe. Send your Spirit upon these students and fill them with your wisdom and blessings. Grant that they may devote themselves to their studies and draw ever closer to you, the source of all knowledge. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Are you called to the priesthood, diaconate or religious life?
As John the Baptist introduced the people of his time to Jesus “a voice from heaven said, ‘This is my Son, the Beloved, with whom I am well pleased.’” Perhaps God is calling you to do the same in our time as a priest, deacon, brother or sister.
