Happy Father’s Day
Heavenly Father,
We come before You today with hearts full of gratitude, lifting up the men in our community who understood the mission before them, embraced it fully, and have dedicated themselves to all that You have called them to do in the role of a father.
Lord, we ask that You pour out Your strength and wisdom upon them today. For the men who have loved from the very beginning, for those who chose to step into a child’s life and love without reservation, and for the mentors, grandfathers, and spiritual fathers who quietly stand in the gap—we thank You. Grant them the grace to lead with patience, the courage to protect, and the joy of knowing their presence matters deeply.
We also pray for Your gentle comfort to surround any child or heart feeling an ache of absence today. Remind them, Lord, that they are never rejected and never abandoned, but are held securely in Your perfect, unwavering love. Allow our community to be a refuge of support, reminding every child that they are cherished.
Renew the spirits of these men today, Father. Let them feel acknowledged, loved, and deeply appreciated for the sacrifices they make. Bless them as they live out this sacred calling, and may they always reflect Your heart to the generations following them.
In Your holy name, we pray.
Amen.

Ministry Updates & Upcoming Events
A Goodbye and a Welcome
With many mixed feelings, we are saying goodbye this week to our very loved and appreciated Hannah Jakus, who has served our parish for the past several years as Discipleship Coordinator and Parish Leadership Team.
Under Hannah’s leadership and guidance our parish expanded our ministries and events to include Alpha, Rescue, Small Groups and RCIA . We are so grateful for the time she has shared and spent with our parish staff family. She has found home in our parish community and is looking forward to raising her family here.

We are excited to welcome Vanessa Lacson into this role. She comes to our parish with 14 years of parish ministry experience from various parishes.
She has been married for 12 years, and has 4 kids. A parishioner of All Saints Parish in Coquitlam, she is involved in Liturgy of the Word for Children and has a passion for Catechesis of Good Shepherd.
She enjoys cooking, likes to garden when time permits, and has a passion for a good cup of coffee, which makes St. Patrick’s the perfect working environment with our Holy Grounds coffeehouse adjacent to our parish offices.
We’re thrilled to have her on board, even if it means you’ll have to double-check which Vanessa you’re talking to!

Please join us this Sunday for our bi-weekly Food Recovery Program Giveaway day. Gates open at 12:30pm or following the conclusion of the 11:15am Mass, whichever comes later. Individuals who utilize mobility aids such as walkers or canes are invited to come to the front and form a separate line.
We are grateful to our generous donors, without whom we could not offer this program to the community. This week we extend our thanks to the Friends in Need Food Bank; Food Bank on Wheels; Shoppers on 240th; the Safeway Bakery on Shaughnessy; the Port Coquitlam Costco; Save On Foods; and Starbucks on 227th and Dewdney, and at Valley Fair Mall.

Thank you to Peter Okafor and Michael Steele for leading our young men who are serving as altar servers and for teaching them reverence and appreciation for the role that they hold in our Masses.

10th Anniversary of MAiD in Canada – June 17
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, June 17, 2026 marks 10 years since medical assistance in dying was legalized in Canada. At a time when many are led to believe their lives lack purpose or value, each one of us must witness to the truth that every person is loved by God. By our words and actions, we must make known that no one is ever a burden and that every person is worthy of care, accompaniment, and hope.
