We do RCIA backwards here at St. Patrick’s. RCIA is no longer a structured program but a year long process; Mystagogia is a huge part of it. Mystagogia is for neophytes and those who have chosen to receive sacraments that Easter year. Mystagogia is a blend of community building, catechesis and story of a Life in Christ. All lessons are accompanied by a speaker, lighthouse scripture passages and references from the Catechism of the Catholic Church…all through the heart. Our scripture verse for this program is, 1 Corinthians 13:1:, “If I speak in tongues of men and angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing”. Some topics include, “God who is Love”, “The Battle, the Defeat & the Victory”, and “What happens after we die”? Currently, we have 21 participants registered for Mystagogia.
