Bulletin: 11th Sunday in Ordinary Time
Heavenly Father, you entrusted your Son Jesus, the child of Mary, to the care of Joseph, his foster father.
We give you thanks and praise for fathers young and old.
We pray for young fathers, newly embracing their vocation; May they find courage and perseverance to balance work, family and faith in joy and sacrifice.
We pray for our own fathers around the world whose children are lost or suffering; May they know that the God of compassion walks with them in their sorrow.
We pray for men who are not fathers but still mentor and guide us with fatherly love and advice.
We remember fathers, grandfathers, and great grandfathers who are no longer with us but who live forever in our memory and nourish us with their love.
We ask that you please bless all fathers and grandfathers as they care for their families. Give them strength and wisdom, tenderness and patience, give them ability to love in a way that reflects your love.
Amen
Our parish relies on your generosity. Your donations each year directly impact our ability to minister to those in need, to provide special programs such as Alpha and CGS, to offer small group faith studies, to maintain our buildings, and to grow our parish school.
Your Project Advance tax-deductible donation will fund important works such as:
- Youth and young adults ministry in our parishes
- The construction of new Catholic schools
- Programs that support healthy families
- Feeding the homeless and vulnerable in the Downtown Eastside
- Pastoral ministry and support for the hospitalized
Once St. Patrick’s parish goal is met, all additional funds raised will be directed back to parish projects identified by your Pastor and parish team. Thank you so much for your generosity.

COMPANIONS OF THE CROSS
With humble and grateful hearts we wish to express our thanks to Father Francis Ching and his ministry for journeying to our parish and healing many hearts and bodies and minds and souls; for teaching and leading our healing team; for leading a day-long workshop on the Called & Gifted program offered in our parish.
We will keep you in our prayers and your many lessons and homilies in our hearts. You have taught us much, and we are ever grateful and appreciative.
If you would like to make a donation to Father Francis and his ministry, the Companions of the Cross, we invite you to visit the following link:
CALLED & GIFTED
Thank you to Margaret Jakus and Hannah Powell for giving your time and talents on Saturday to support and care for all of the disciples currently discerning their Gifts of the Holy Spirit. Your support and service and time made the very full day flow easily and well for all of those who joined us.
PARISH HEALING MISSION
Thank you to our phenomenal Choir Director, Jen Boyer, and the amazing gifts of music shared with us by Christina Geary, Emma Steele, Lisa Cheah, and Margaret Jakus. You truly touched all of our souls, giving of yourselves every day and every Mass and throughout our long retreat weekend starting on Thursday and through late in the evening on Tuesday. You lift our hearts, and help us find our way to the doorways we need to open within ourselves to find the Lord. Thank you, so very much.
Thank you to Michael Albrecht, Jen Castle, Jen Haer, Kristine Loch, and the Mom’s and Tots group for baking hundreds and hundreds of cookies for us to provide after every Mass, inviting and welcoming our parishioners to our Healing Mission.
Thank you to our talented IT Director Joshua Valouche, Patrick Schafli, and Denis Boyer for ensuring all who wish can watch and participate in all of our Masses in person and online this weekend and the extraordinary healing Masses on Monday and Tuesday.
Thank you to our Healing Ministry for opening your hearts to the Lord’s call and giving of your time and talents to travel, learn, and join us for our Healing Mission and laying your hands upon our parishioners seeking healing both body and soul.
Thank you to our servers who supported our priests and a very special thank you to Randy Tabada who served our Healing Masses as Father Ching’s carer.
MAKING IT ALL HAPPEN
Thank you to those who took time out of their busy schedules to prepare our parish for this very special mission, where we welcomed many guests from outside of our parish. Thank you to those who made sure everything we do here is welcoming, clean, tidy and organized. These touches that take time and care but are often unnoticed go very far in helping parishioners and guests feel welcome and loved.
Thank you to those who provided meals for Father Matthew and Father Francis so that they could focus on their work. We would like to acknowledge the meals provided by (in order by last name): Cathy Albrecht, Jen Castle, Rupa Jenita, Anna Pacella, Ester Shan and Jenny Wong. We also thank Lo and Ester for their contributions to making these meals possible.
A final Thank you to those who have made the parish their place of work for making this all happen, most especially Margaret Jakus who had the vision and the mission to make Called & Gifted a powerful ministry here at St. Patrick’s and who guided us to invite and welcome Father Ching to join us for these past many days. Without your vision, loving and guiding heart, we would not have had these many blessings bestowed upon us. We pray that the mission continues and more feel the powerful pull of healing and conversion. Thank you Margaret Jakus, Vanessa Chow, Hannah Powell, Eric Chow, Jen Boyer, Margaret Zochowski, Emma Steele, Joshua Valouche, Patrick Schafli, and Jen Castle.
PARISH MAINTENANCE
Thank you to Sanjay Kumar for your work and support repairing our parish air conditioning unit.
Every act of help and support keeps our parish running and is an integral part of achieving our parish mission. We are so very grateful to all.
If you would like to serve the parish by donating your time or skills, please let us know.
You were called by God for a purpose, and were given gifts and charisms by the Holy Spirit at the time of your Baptism and Confirmation. Discover your special gift through the Called & Gifted program now being offered through St. Patrick’s
During Lent we are called to Fast, Pray and Give Alms; many in our community need help. At St. Patrick’s we strive to support our community both in spirit and in body.
If you or someone you know is in need of prayers or support, please reach out.
In Recognition of our Small Business Owners
We are so happy to provide a free resource of small businesses owned and managed by fellow parishioners. By supporting one another, we grow and strengthen our community, and through that support we grow and strengthen our faith.
