Bulletin: 4th Sunday of Easter

Pope Leo XIV
Robert Cardinal Prevost
O God, who in your providential design
willed that your Church be built upon blessed Peter,
whom you set over the other Apostles,
look with favor, we pray, on Leo our Pope
and grant that he,
whom you have made Peter’s successor,
may be for your people
a visible source and foundation
of unity in faith and of communion.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God, for ever and ever.
Collect of the Mass for the Pope

“Abound in hope!” This powerful message from St. Paul’s Letter to the Romans is the theme for National Family and Life Week2025, which begins on Sunday, May 11th, and concludes on Sunday, May 18th. As we journey together as “Pilgrims of Hope” in this Jubilee Year, let us reflect on the gift of hope God gives us through our families.
All families, parishes and parish groups, ecclesial movements and associations, as well as Catholic schools are encouraged to take time this week to celebrate their own families, express gratitude, offer forgiveness, or share meaningful moments with loved ones. This week is an opportunity to promote life and live out our call to love each other within our homes, communities, and the world.
May God’s loving care inspire all families to abound in hope, living our call to holiness as missionary disciples. Let us not just be glimmers of hope but beacons of hope! As St. Paul encourages, “abound in hope!”
Catholic Spiritual Care Available after Lapu-Lapu Festival Tragedy
In these days of sorrow following the tragedy at the Lapu-Lapu Day Festival in Vancouver, I continue to hold you all, especially our Filipino community, in my prayers.
If you or your loved ones are seeking spiritual care, Catholic hospital chaplains are available to offer prayer, support, and the Sacraments, including Anointing of the Sick. Faith-based counselling and other spiritual supports are also available to help individuals and families carry their grief with hope.
Resources are likewise available for clergy, parish staff, ministry leaders, and Catholic educators to accompany those affected by trauma, drawing on the best practices of pastoral care.
For more information on these supports, please visit rcav.org/lapu-lapu
May our merciful Lord bring healing to all who are suffering, and may our Blessed Mother comfort every broken heart.
+ J. Michael Miller, CSB
Apostolic Administrator
