Bulletin: 5th Sunday of Lent

Our parish relies on your generosity. Your donations each year directly impact our ability to minister to those in need, to provide special programs such as Alpha and CGS, to offer small group faith studies, to maintain our buildings, and to grow our parish school.

This weekend’s second collection supports Share Lent 2025, a campaign that helps communities around the world break free from poverty and injustice. Your tax-deductible gift supports grassroots projects in Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East; defends vulnerable communities and their natural resources; challenges unjust structures that rob people of their dignity; and promotes global solidarity rooted in Catholic Social Teaching.

Reflection
With alms giving, the heart of healing and restoring communion with each is the forgiveness of one another. Of all the things Jesus could beseech us to pray for and about, He insists upon forgiveness. Unforgiveness stands in the way of much of our healing and restoration, freedom, and wholeness. Whatever our personal experience with forgiveness or the lack thereof, Jesus wants to meet us in this very place, and bring our hearts to freedom. He goes before us here. Will you follow Him in whatever He wants to reveal to your heart?
-Restore; Sr. Miriam James
Please take my hand as I go with you into this area of my heart and life, where I need to be forgiven, and where I need to forgive others who have hurt me.
Give me the courage, strength and safety to welcome your healing power into my heart, and allow me to transform my life.
Amen

Anchored in Hope Lent Retreat
This Lent provides us with an opportunity to dive even deeper into the themes of the Jubilee Year of Hope. We often are tempted to seek our security in things such as comforts, relationships, and attachments rather than finding it in Christ. Fr. Davide Lanzani will lead retreatants to make hope the anchor of their souls. At St. Jude Parish on Saturday April 5 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, lunch included. Register by April 1 at beholdvancouver.org/events.
Installation Mass of Archbishop Richard W. Smith
With gratitude to God, the Archdiocese of Vancouver joyfully welcomes The Most Reverend Richard W. Smith as the Archbishop of Vancouver. His Installation Mass will be a moment of great significance as he formally takes up his ministry among us. Due to limited space, the Mass will be by invitation only. Everyone is invited to watch the live stream at rcav.org and join us in prayer on Friday, May 23 at 7:00 p.m.
Rachel’s Vineyard Retreat
“If someone has entered into your life and made a mess of your life or maybe you did it yourself… things you have done where you need to forgive yourself; you have broken stained glass windows in your life. Those pieces need to be given to God, and allow Him to pick up those pieces, put them together and He can make something even more beautiful.” Fr. Geraci
Are you ready to hand everything over to God? To let Him rebuild what is broken inside and allow Him to help you feel alive again? Join us on a Rachel’s Vineyard Retreat™ for healing after abortion. Next retreat is May 23-25, 2025. For confidential information call 604.525.0999 or email: [email protected]. Learn more about Rachel’s Vineyard at beholdvancouver.org/services.
