Arise Youth Retreat
Fundraising beginning soon for our young people, stay tuned! We are so excited to announce that we are sending some of our youth to the Arise Youth Camp Retreat happening in North Vancouver August 26-30th. We are thrilled that the Archdiocese is offering this opportunity for practical skills and spiritual development. The teens will be exploring self-identity, how to build community connections to their home parish of St. Patrick’s and how to make Jesus at the centre of their lives.
Most importantly, one of the goals of Arise is to increase the connection between the retreat experience and their home parish community as there is often a ‘disconnect’ between the spiritual and emotional highs experienced during a retreat and the realities of everyday life.
Right now, we only have two spots left. If you want to sign your young person up, please do not sign up individually as we are registered as a group. Email Hannah by Wednesday, July 17th. She will be in touch.

Please join us in congratulations and celebration of the Marriage of Marie Ilagan and Brock Gabara, who were married on June 28th.
Congratulations on a beautiful beginning to married life. May your joining together bring you more joy than you can imagine.

Thank you to Fr. Joseph Nguyen for the celebration of Mass for our parish this past week. We appreciate you very much.
Every act of help and support keeps our parish running and is an integral part of achieving our parish mission. We are so very grateful to all.
If you would like to serve the parish by donating your time or skills, please let us know.

During Lent we are called to Fast, Pray and Give Alms; many in our community need help. At St. Patrick’s we strive to support our community both in spirit and in body.
If you or someone you know is in need of prayers or support, please reach out.

World Day for Grandparents and the Elderly
“Do not cast me off in my old age.” —Psalm 71:9
The Fourth World Day for Grandparents and the Elderly, celebrated this year on July 28, 2024, is an important occasion for the life of our ecclesial communities. Attending to our grandparents and the elderly is not only a sign of gratitude and affection, but a necessity in the construction of a more human and fraternal society. The Holy Father invites us to recognise their value and to do so permanently, not just occasionally. It is not a matter of celebrating an anniversary once a year, but of making the elderly feel like an integral part of our Christian family and our common history. The successive generations of elderly people must be taken seriously, and the Church must give them appropriate pastoral attention. We invite everyone to consider how they can honour their grandparents and the elderly in their communities. Learn more at beholdvancouver.org/events.
