Thursday, May 1st @ 6:30-9pm.

Fr. Francis Ching is a priest with the Companions of the Cross. Since 2015, he has been working full time giving missions and training lay evangelization leaders. Fr. Francis is the spiritual director for the Fountain of Love and Life, a lay apostolate for evangelizing Chinese through the media. Fr. Francis is visually impaired & in recent years has become virtually blind. His greatest joy, though, is to see hearts transformed and set on fire for the Lord.
In many of Jesus’ healing stories, not only did He heal people, but He let them follow Him and commissioned them to serve.

Our parish relies on your generosity. Your donations each year directly impact our ability to minister to those in need, to provide special programs such as Alpha and CGS, to offer small group faith studies, to maintain our buildings, and to grow our parish school.

St. Pat’s Highlights
Ministry Updates & Upcoming Events

Please join us this Sunday, April 27th at 12:30pm for our bi-weekly Food Recovery Program Giveaway Day.
We are anticipating this to be a fairly large giveaway, and have donations to share with you from the following organizations: Food Bank on Wheels, Bella Nonnas, Costco Burnaby, Costco Port Coquitlam, Safeway Bakery, Save On Foods, and Shoppers Drug Mart.

A bus for attendees of this event is currently being coordinated. Please contact the Parish Office if you are hoping to attend this event in Victoria.

We wanted to provide an update on the youth happenings at St. Patrick’s parish.
Last month, our Bibles & Brownies ministry team took an Intentional Accompaniment training course in Vancouver during one of their Saturdays.
Julia, Francis, Tyler and Eva came back from the Alpha Youth Leadership safe and sound. They are currently working with Hannah to dream about potentially doing something for youth in the parish.
We are currently accepting fundraising efforts for the Catholic Youth conference at Archbishop Carney high school on May 3, 2025. This is a full-day event where youth can anchor themselves in Jesus and explore ways to be anchored in hope and how spiritual growth, joy and peace are part of the journey. If you would like to sponsor a youth, please email the front office.

There are so many to thank, so many who gave of their time and talents. Who lovingly and selflessly supported our parish throughout this season (and beyond). There are gardeners, there are those who took out the trash, those who handled recycling. Those who opened and closed gates. Those who cleaned bathrooms and vacuumed floors. Those who picked wax up off of the carpets and wiped down the pews. Those who ring the bells, and those who washed garments. Those who prepared shawls and those who prepare documents. We cannot possibly list everyone, but we sure wish we could. This parish is a community and your efforts and sharing of your gifts shows.
Thank you all so very much for being here and remembering our Lord with us. We appreciate you.

In Loving Memory of Pope Francis from Archbishop Miller
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ:
It is with great sorrow that I join the faithful of the Archdiocese of Vancouver, and Catholics around the world, in mourning the passing of our Holy Father, Pope Francis.
Pope Francis was a tireless shepherd of the Church, a beacon of hope, and a champion of the Gospel. His deep love for the poor, unwavering commitment to peace, and bold witness to Christ’s message of love and reconciliation have inspired millions of people everywhere. Leading with humility, he called us to a renewed closeness to Jesus and a missionary spirit that reaches to the peripheries. His vision of synodality—a Church that listens, discerns and walks together—profoundly shapes our local Church today.
The most significant legacy left to the Archdiocese of Vancouver by Pope Francis is undoubtedly his heart for evangelization. Inspired by his declaration of an Extraordinary Missionary Month in October 2019, we launched Proclaim, a movement that awakens disciples to proclaim Jesus. The Pope’s challenge to embrace missionary discipleship continues to guide our evangelization efforts today.
O God, immortal shepherd of souls,
look on your people’s prayers
and grant that your servant Pope Francis,
who presided over your Church in charity,
may, with the flock entrusted to his care,
receive from your mercy
the reward of a faithful steward.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God, for ever and ever.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him.
Requiescat in pace.
+ J. Michael Miller, CSB
Apostolic Administrator
