Bulletin: Holy Week, 2024
Our parish relies on your generosity. Your donations each year directly impact our ability to minister to those in need, to provide special programs such as Alpha and CGS, to offer small group faith studies, to maintain our buildings, and to grow our parish school.
Political and economic instability, poverty, and discrimination make it difficult to live in the lands where Christ once walked.
On Good Friday, March 29, there will be a special collection to support the Church of the Holy Land. Your tax-deductible gift will enable many social, educational, and parish renewal projects, and permit a measure of peace for Christians who depend on your support more than ever. Donations can be made in person at the parish, at our parish website – stpatricksmapleridge.ca/donations/second-collections/ (Select Good Friday from the drop-down) or online at rcav.org/holy-land

Holy Week – Palm Sunday
REFLECTION
This is a week unlike any other week. This week changes everything! When created, humanity possessed all goodness and communion with God. With the Fall, humanity fell captive to sin, darkness, separation, and death. As prisoners, slaves, captives, we awaited a savior, a rescuer. Christ’s ultimate sacrifice this Holy Week Restored our original goodness and communion with the Father. But our freedom remains intact – we can choose to embrace his love and heart and receive eternal life. OR we can choose to reject his love and receive eternal separation. The choice is ours to make.
-Restore; Sr. Miriam James

Alpha
Thank you to our Alpha Team for another successful Alpha semester. The team dedicated time, effort and lots of hospitable love to our participants at Alpha. Thank you again to everyone who donated or sponsored a meal. Thank you to all the participants who participated in the potluck for the evening and morning sessions. Food is a huge part of the connection piece at Alpha so we are so thankful. And lastly of course, thank you to our participants who came every Wednesday evening or Thursday morning and spent time with us; we know it is a sacrifice but we truly loved gathering together. We hope to see you next September!
St. Patrick’s Day Celebration
Thank you to all of those who contributed time, effort, food and music to make our St. Patrick’s Day Celebration amazing! ♥♥♥
We would like to especially thank Louis for his contribution of beer; Louis and Matteo for serving; the Knights for their BBQ station with hot dogs; the CWL for their baking; Monika, Julia and Veronika for kitchen support; Emmanuel, Dennis Leclerc, and the Ukulele group for their music and fun; the altar servers for their Ice Cream Sundae station and Luis, the Boyers, and Boris for last minute ice cream runs; and all of those who came out to laugh, dance, celebrate and enjoy our special day.
Every act of help and support keeps our parish running and is an integral part of achieving our parish mission. We are so very grateful to all.
If you would like to serve the parish by donating your time or skills, please let us know.

We talk a lot about Alpha (because it’s AMAZING), but we want to also highlight our Small Groups which are always here and always supporting us in our faith formation. Lent is a great time to sit and reflect on where you are at with God, others and, of course, yourselves.
Small groups are intimate groups designed to learn about the heart of Jesus and the heart of the Father.
**WARNING**
People who participate in small groups develop lifelong friendships and connections, and often end up volunteering to participate in more activities at the parish.
Please contact Hannah, our discipleship coordinator, to find out if we have a small group that would be a good fit for you or if a new one is in the process of being formed. We try our best to match you up with people of your same age and demographic. We have groups of moms, groups of men, groups of high school students etc…
During Lent we are called to Fast, Pray and Give Alms; many in our community need help. At St. Patrick’s we strive to support our community both in spirit and in body.
If you or someone you know is in need of prayers or support, please reach out.
The St. Patrick’s Parish Office has a growing collection of items that have been found. If you are missing one of your valuables, please stop by the office. Our staff will ask you to provide some identifying information for lost valuables. Thank you.
